C:Medieval

Here's a game I made for this month's Experimental Gameplay Project, the theme is 100 things so I made a 100 player arcade game. I'm not sure if it works yet, I don't have 99 friends.

Update: Version 0.52 should fix the multiplayer connecting bugs.

Great game, seriously think of adding in other units, like archers or knights or even mounted soldiers.

It would be great if you could allow us to build really crude blocks that act as a castle that we had to somehow batter down, using siege equipment or pure strength. But I doubt it'd work until you added commands for peasants, so they can do as you tell them.

Edmund is not a "leader" on this blog anymore... Isn't he a part of Cryptic Sea anymore?

Yeah I might add some simple commands for the AI, it would definitely be cool to have different types of guys. For now I'd like to try to get a big game going, when is the best time for you guys?

I would love to play a huge game. The only thing that sucks is the fact that we all spawn on the same side (so, blues are usually on the left flank, oranges are usually on the right flank) which kinda makes the game a bit stale. You get people who charge right behind you straight away and it's quite annoying. You should randomize spawn locations.

Also, i'd be up for a game. I'm free all day Saturday. I'm in the UK. Just post on the blog when the game is going to be up (give an hour or twos notice) and i'll hop right in.

Had a long game going on with 10-15 players recently, and there was far too much running away to save title/money/weapons, and then swapping team so you'd be on the winning side next time.

Also, I think that if a King retreats, he should lose his title, no matter what.. kings do not run!

Yeah I'm planning on changing the starting positions, I'll probably put in some basic AI commands also.

Retreating is definitely part of the strategy of the game, although I might make more of a penalty for switching teams. Although I've played some games where it was unbalanced because no one switched from the winning team.

Alex, any idea on how long it'll take to do these updates? Also, any way to contact you personally? Would be great. This game has a lot of potential, and i'd happily get more people playing, but as it is now, not many people will be interested for long.

Great game, although could use a little more variety. Maybe different types of terrain, like having impassable terrain (water) and then terrain that hinders movement, like forest?

Also, units like Archers would be good as well.

And, if it's anything, I've got the entire day Saturday for playing

I'm not sure when the next version will be ready, I might try and do a tournament next week though.
