What was the game made in? I'm trying to get into programming 3D engines, and I'd like to know what this is using. It looks nice, and the atmosphere (the music, everything) was perfect.
Wow, I just completed the demo. I am taken by the game play. There's a part of me that want to just offer my resume and give me a call if you need a level designer.
I love the fact that Shadow\2d Mode's gravity it base on the location of the light.
I would move level 3 up to be level 2 (and level 2 becomes level 3). This is more for pacing. The 3rd level is an easier level because it can be completed using what you needed to learn to get through level 1. Level 2's solution is focused on teaching the 3d to 2d fling.
Admittedly, this was the order I completed the first 3 levels.
Someone on the first thread mentioned the Leap of Faith Jumps. I agree with him on this. Though, this might be solved by giving the user the ability to zoom out and see more of the level in Shadow\2d mode.
I like these games that are a bit different from the same-old-same-old =)
By the way, a bit off-topic, but what happened to Gish 2? You probably get this a lot but are you still making it? Getting a little worried since it's a year since the last mention of it.
I'm very impressed by the gameplay and the mood, however it'd be nice if you could lay off the shaders a bit so it doesn't run like shit on older boxes. :(
Also, after having a quick confirmation look ingame: The complaints about leap of faith are targeted at the wrong problem. If one remains observant one can plainly see the shadows on the ground and work out the structure of the 2d without any sort of trial-and-error. The main problem her is though that the brightness of the ground fades too quickly, making it difficult to see and notice in larger distances.
Excellent article that will provide the incentive and basis for my works. I wonder if I can mention the article as a bibliographic reference in my work. Thanks! Classified Ads Meghalaya

Somnia was made in C using the OpenGL, OpenAL and SDL.

Nice. But why have an install exe? Why not just a .zip file or a .rar?
