So since i didn't do a Gish 2 post last week, and Alex and i took a week off this week, I though id fill in the gap with a little update on what else I've been doing these days.
Gish 2 takes up the meat of my time now a days, but when I have extra time I put it into the many side projects I attempt to juggle.
I tend to do flash games in sets of 3. the last 3 being weltling, dumpling and peashy. Currently im working on a series of 3 online multui-player games with a stripped down simple theme. the 1st game being Host, a super simple fighting game stripped down to 2 attacks.

the 2nd game in the series is Bacterium, a simplified turn based strategy game that plays kind of like chess meets warcraft but set inside someones body... this one is being programmed by Eli Piilonen (of stranded fame) and is due out by the end of the year.
3rd is an RTS that plays like a base defense game. You play as a colony of maggots inside a decomposing carcass. The games called Grub and like the first two it will also be online vs.
Grub is being programmed by Josh (psycho goldfish) creator of Mini putt and webmaster of webgamemagazine.com. This one will launch on a new multi-player flash server created by Josh by the end of the year.
The 4th game is very close to completion and something Florian (triachnid) an I have been working on for some time. Originally planned as "a game in a week" Coil turned into a much bigger project that ive been over thinking for some time now and I finally think we have something really worth playing. I cant talk much about gameplay but the game is based on death (life?) and plays around the idea of there being no clear rules or "hand holding" through out the experience. Coil is due out in a month or so.
And finally, the side project that has been put on hold until Florian is out of the army, Guppy. Guppy is a 2d side scroller that kinda plays like GTA.. but not. its hard to explain and also still very early in development, but I couldn't help but post a little video of it.
I hope this update tides you over for a while.

Is guppy a flash game? If so I am duly impressed, tho if its just opengl or something I am still impressed, just not quite so much.
In either case, this stuff looks awesome, cant wait to see it!
cool! it definitely works well.
man, we haven't worked on robotology for months, let alone future games.. :(

Because games are judged by how hard they are to program and not by how fun they are. Right?
